Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Rocio Foltran

In 2016 Dr. Rocio Foltran got her Biological Sciences degree and started her PhD studies at the University of Buenos Aires. She worked trying to understand how serotonin and neurotrophic factors modulate the genesis of new neurons in the adult hippocampus. Rocio finally got her PhD diploma in Biomedical Sciences in 2022, and then worked for a year studying the effects of environmental enrichment. Lastly, this year Rocio started her postdoc with a CONICET fellowship, with a project about the role of serotonin in the early origins of psychiatric disorders. Besides academic work, she’s always been interested in science communication and education, so she published two communication articles and organized the Pint of Science Festival in her hometown of Buenos Aires for two consecutive years. 

Onyinye Elizabeth Mbata is a practicing physician in Ecuador, a writer, a health educator, and the health columnist for a digital magazine, Hello Icon Magazine. Elizabeth earned her medical degree from Escuela Latino Americana University in Venezuela and her master’s degree in occupational health from the Catholic University of Ecuador. She has practiced as a physician in Venezuela, Nigeria, and Ecuador. In 2020 she was presented an award for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients. She educates people on healthy living through her YouTube channel, All Round Health Talk with Dr. Onyinye. When she is not working in the hospital, she is giving health talks and writing.

Dr. Elizabeth Onyinye Mbata

Dr. Andres Maldonado

Dr. Andres Maldonado is a medical doctor born in Venezuela, now licensed to practice medicine in Venezuela, Colombia and Spain. Dr. Maldonado has extensive experience in many fields, among them; scientific research in subjects such as pharmacology, surgery, neuroscience and metabolic diseases. Dr. Maldonado is a complete professional, very proactive in any subject that he delves into. In free time, Dr. Maldonado is an amateur runner and always available for a good talk and a good cup of coffee.

Dr. Simei Quevedo is an Argentine physician with extensive experience in the field of medical emergencies. He was an assistant professor in Semiology at the National University of Rosario for three years, contributing to the training of new health professionals. Dr. Quevedo practices as an emergency physician, applying his knowledge and experience in critical situations. 

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Quevedo is a medical content writer, sharing his experience and knowledge through writing.

Dr. Eduardo Ramos

Dr. Eduardo A. Ramos R. Is a surgical resident at the Department of General Surgery of General of South Hospital in Maracaibo, Venezuela. 
Born in Valera, Trujillo – Venezuela in 1994. He moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela. To study medicine at the University of Zulia and finish the medical career in 2019. Being part of the Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Research Center of University of Zulia from 2013 to 2017 and starting to work as a surgical assistant and research fellow at the International Unit of Bariatric and Robotic Surgery from 2018 to present. In the period of 2019-2020 working as a rural doctor completing the article 8 in a rural ambulatory in Cabimas, Venezuela. 
Completing the basic and advanced training in trauma ultrasound of Pan-American Society of Trauma in Bogotá, Colombia in 2019. Starting the general surgery residency program in January 2022. 
He is a resident member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and also a resident member of European Society of Hernia (EHS). Also co-author of 12 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed impact factor scientific journals with a research interest of 54.1, more than 1800 reads and 92 citations on ResearchGate. Also participating in more than 30 scientific works and posters in scientific congress. 
His main professional and scientific interests focus on general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, obesity, bariatric surgery, robotics surgery, magnetic surgery and digestive surgery.
